Berlin started in the 13th century as a trade centre. In the 20th century it is a powerhouse, and has thrived since re-unition of 1990.
 
The heart of modern Germany is filled with museums, public buildings, restaurants and night clubs.
 
Berlin contributed to the Cold war from 1945 - 1949
 
February 27, 1933 - Berlin went up in flame  with the Reichstag fire.
 
In world war two, Berlin was split into four sectors, American, British, French and Soviet.
 
 
In 1946 Berlin was given it's current name. However, it was much before this that it was first establisihed. This actual date in uncertain.
